Fats Sadi
Sadi Lallemand better known as Fats Sadi was born on the 23 of October 1927 in Andenne. (+Hoei, 20 februari 2009+)
He was a Belgian Jazz musician who took Sadi as artist name because his last name
means German in French. Making name after the second world war his name wouldn't have been
in favour working in German neighbouring countries.
Sadi was a multi instrumentalist. He played the vibraphone, percussion, piano and the bongos.
As a very good spirit he worked as a orchest leader, singer, comic, composer and arranger.
On the early age of nine Sadi made his first stage performances as a xylophone player.
Around 1938 he started listening to Louis Armstrong and discovered the jazz. In 1941 he started
playing the vibraphone and one year later he had his own instrument. During the second world
war he played as a novice in orchestras from Fud Candrix, Bobby Naret.
Meanwhile he meets Raoul Faisant le grand père du jazz Belge. After the liberation Sadi left
his family to play for the Americans. Soon the Bob Shots were born : a good organised Belgian
orchest who played the first bop in Europe.
